Introduction:
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. IELTS is globally available, recognized and conducted. It measures ability to communicate in English in all four linguistic skills - listening, reading, writing and speaking-for people (from non-native English speaking country) who intend to study or work in countries where English is the language of communication. IELTS is a truly global test which can take you where you want to go.

Why IELTS Test?
IELTS is the first step to proceed for visa process. It is recognized for course admission by universities and colleges in many countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA and UK and increasingly in Germany and wider Europe. IELTS is also required as a proof of your language abilities for immigration to Australia, New Zealand and Canada. IELTS score is a trusted and valid indicator of ability to communicate in English. It also conforms to the highest international standards of language assessment.
Who Should Take the IELTS Test?
IELTS has two modules: 1. Academic Training Module 2.General Training Module.
You can choose the Academic Training Module if you want to go to university in an English speaking country or if you want to register with the General Medical Council or Dental Medical Council in the UK. If you wish to migrate to Australia, New Zealand or Canada, opt for the General Training Module. To make sure that you choose the module you need to check with the institution you are taking the test for. It is solely your discretion to choose the right Module.
Formats of the IELTS:
IELTS uses a unique nine point scoring system to measure and report test scores in a consistent manner - wherever and whenever the test is taken. This scoring system is internationally recognized and understood. Candidates are tested in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. All candidates take the same Listening and speaking Modules. There is a choice between Academic and General Training in the Reading and writing Modules. The first three modules: Listening, Reading and Writing must be completed in one day. There is no break between the modules. The speaking module may be taken, at the discretion of the test center, in the period of seven days before or after the other three modules.
The Test has Four Sections:
Listening:
- Divided into 4 Sections.
- There are 40 Items, all are objectives.
- 30 Minutes (10 extra minutes to transfer your answers to OMR sheet).
Reading:
- Divided into 3 passages.
- There are 40 Items, all are objectives.
- 60 Minutes (No extra time to transfer the answers).
Writing:
Divided into two parts (Task1 & Task2).
- For academic, Task1 is Report writing (150 to 200 words).
- For general training, Task1 is Letter writing (150 to 200 words).
- For (Academic/General) Task2 is Essay writing (250 to 300).
60 Minutes (Academic/General).
Speaking:
Total time 11-15 Minutes (Divided into 3 parts).
- 1. Introduction.
- 2. CUE card (1 minute preparation time and 2 minutes speaking time).
- 3. Counter questions.
IELTS score is valid for 2 years.
IELTS score is out of 9 Bands.
